Selina & Neil – My day at The Italian Villa

Earlier this month I attended the wedding of two good friends, I’ve been helping them with the planning and styling of their big day for over 2 years now. The wedding was at The Italian Villa at Compton Acres near Poole in Dorset.

I arrived early to finish the décor in the Medici Suite for the wedding breakfast. They say the attention is in the detail and Beales Gourmet team definitely don’t scrimp on this. Crisp white linen were carefully folded into heart shapes for the female guests and freshly pressed dress shirts for the gents.

The Italian Villa is a unique venue that has separate floors for each part of your wedding day. The airy Verona Suite on the first floor hosts the wedding ceremony with its lovely red carpet.

Guests then leave the venue and walk through to The Grand Italian Garden for reception drinks.

You are free to explore the nearby gardens whilst there and it is a beautiful place to while away a few hours so I will definitely be going back with the family to continue exploring.

The wedding breakfast was hosted in the Medici Suite which is on the ground floor with an ornate staircase up from the garden.

I have to admit I felt like I was spoilt rotten during the wedding breakfast. The waiting staff never missed an empty glass and were never far away if you needed something or had a question. Selina and Neil had chosen the BBQ menu option which is the nicest BBQ food I’ve ever eaten. As a vegetarian I enjoyed halloumi and vegetable kebabs as well as a selection of yummy green, rice and pasta salads. My little boy enjoyed his burger so much he went out to the chef and thanked him personally.

Following the wedding breakfast guests then went down to the lower ground floor to the Siena Suite for the evening reception and got to sample some finger sized delights from the catering team and dance the night away.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs McAllister, thank you for asking me to help you with your wedding planning and thank you for an amazing day.

After spending the day at The Italian Villa I now know why this venue won Best wedding venue in England at the 2016 Wedding Industry Awards as well numerous regional titles over the last few years. These guys know what supplying great service means to their clients and their guests. I can not fault their hospitality. It isn’t very often that the duty manager offers to help you load the car with the venue décor and props. Thanks to all the staff for making Selina & Neil’s wedding day just perfect.
